In my Intuitive Coaching and Biofeedback Practice I have been working with a lot of younger clients dealing with negative emotions. I tell them “Nothing Exists as it Appears, you have FREE WILL and you can Shift Anything in Your Life if you can train your mind not to sabotage your wishes and dreams!”
But its not just the mind that sabotages us, its also our emotions. You can have good intentions, affirmations, mantras you are practicing every day but if your emotional body does the opposite, then none of your wishes and dreams will come to fruition. If you tell yourself that you will be successful in business or other, over and over and you have your affirmations to support this belief. You meditate on it, you visualize it and you belief without a doubt that this is so, but your emotional body underneath all of that still believes that you are not worthy because as a child you were given a message of lack and scarcity. You heard your parents argue about money and your father said that money doesn't grow on trees. Until and unless you clear the emotional body system from these programs you will eventually sabotage your energy flow.
The Gurus say that the mind has no feeling and no understanding and that it is like a bio-computer. According to them, we must nurture our souls and tell our minds to get in the back-seat of your car (the body) and the soul into the driver seat. How do you do that? Well let me help you. The mind never has enough, it will never be satisfied and that is why soul consciousness is crucial to spiritual growth.
Mind and soul are two concepts that are closely related, yet very different from one another. They both come from the inner part of a human being, particularly our brain and our heart. The soul is the spiritual nature of humankind. It is the incorporeal essence of humankind, and it is thought to be separable from the body at death. In life, it is credited with the faculties of thought, action, and emotion. The mind is man’s faculty of thinking, reasoning, and applying knowledge. Human consciousness starts in the brain and is manifested through man’s thoughts, actions, emotion, will, memory, and imagination.
The soul as the essence of the person decides how we behave and our essence is an eternal part of our being. It is comprised of: the mind, our emotions, and our desires. The idea of the existence of souls is more closely connected to spirituality and religion.
For scientists, the soul is synonymous with the mind due to the fact that one can learn about the soul by studying the human brain where our minds are located. Still others believe that the soul is closely related to being alive and that when man is active, his soul is asleep; when man is asleep it is active through his dreams. The mind on the other hand is used to refer to the individual’s thought process of reason and consciousness. It is synonymous with thought which is an individual’s private conversion with himself that is done inside his head. Some Scientists believe that emotions like love, hate, fear, and joy are separate from the mind because only higher intellectual processes like memory and reason can be part of the mind.
For them, here are what makes up the mind:
Thought, which allows an individual to shape the world and deal with it to achieve his/her goals, plans, and desires.
Memory, which is a living organism’s ability to retain, store, and recall information.
Imagination, which is humanity's ability to create ideas about certain things and experiences.
Consciousness, which is a human's ability to perceive his/her relationship to his/her environment.
What is soul?
Soul is the spiritual nature of man while mind is man’s faculty of thinking and reasoning.
The soul is considered as the essence of man while the mind is in charge of man’s consciousness and thoughts.
Our desires stem from our souls while our minds decide what actions to take in order to achieve our desires.
The key is to come out of self-absorption and you will find bliss.
How do we deal with super-imposition? What is a super-imposition? In India I saw many people with entities that my Guru had to help. People who were rejected by the mental health system and had nowhere to go. It was extremely enlightening for me as a 24 year old girl from Bavaria. I saw people levitate, I saw people speak in ancient languages and I saw Hanuman "The Hindu Monkey God" floating in midair in front of me blowing me almost off my meditation chair laughing and playing with my hair.
Many of my friends, know that I spent 11 years with my spiritual teachers in India and other Ashrams. My Gurus: Baba Sawan Singh, Sant Kirpal Singh and Sand Thakar Singh were considered “Santa Sat Gurus” of India.
What does that really mean? I wrote about this in my memoir and struggled with the idea of what I was told, namely that only the disciples of a Sant Sat Guru will be liberated from the karma of birth and re-birth and will not have to take a human form again. It baffled me greatly and in my twenties, when I was with the Master in India 🇮🇳I was quite happy that I didn’t have to come back into another body.
One day the master told me: “Petra, a day will come when you will love it here on earth!” I asked myself: “How could that be possible when I don’t feel anything drawing me to this world and all I want is to leave this physical reality and go to where I am able to experience bliss and love from the Masters. Living on Earth felt so harsh, so dense, like needles and pins every day. I was 24 years old then and quite self-absorbed and obviously did not understand the greater plan of Spirit for me at that time.
After many years of study and meditation, I finally realize that this human existence is such a privilege. I certainly wasn’t listening the first time when Master Jesus told me that the body was a temple. That it is the greatest privilege to be in human form, that the body is a temple that we need to take very good care of, and that even angels, gods and goddesses are jealous of humans here on earth because we have FREE WILL.
Who wouldn’t want to come back to this magnificent earthly plane, our beautiful Earth?
When I hear my clients tell me that they just want to get out of here and leave this planet permanently and how hard their lives are, I feel so sad 😭 for them, because I was just like them, once in my early 20s. I meditated so many hours every day, so I didn’t have to deal with life, with people, with the outside world and I escaped into my inner world. But then, something miraculous happened. I realized that the work I was doing on the inside, was way harder than the work on the outside and the more Work I did on the inside, the easier it got on the outside.
One day, My Guru Thakar Singh, flew me to the United States. On the plane-ride many things were revealed to me. He told me: “Be in this world, but not of this world! “What does that mean? It means that you live in this world, on this earth, and you do your duties every day, for your children, for your wife or husband, for your schooling or your job. But when you go home and you meditate and you tune in to a different frequency, your inner world, you realize that all of the things on this earth are an illusion created by the mind, and that you are in charge of it, you are the master of your own universe. You create your own reality.
Life can sometimes be so hard, so dismal, so tough, so painful, so out of control, so lonely and so sad that we have feelings of wanting to leave.
We have free will here and we can create anything we imagine. Like Albert Einstein said: “Imagination is more important than knowledge”. If you can imagine it, you can realize it!
The Three Planes of Existence by Ram Dass
One system through which you can look at it all, is that there are a set of vibrations or frequencies, you can call them the physical plane, the astral plane, the causal plane, and that which is beyond the beyond.
That’s a good image, “beyond the beyond.” In Tibetan, there is a mantra, which goes like this:
“Gate, Gate, Paragate, Para Sam Gate Bodhisvaha,”
which means, “To that which is beyond the ocean of existence, I give homage; to that which is beyond the beyond.”
That’s the place beyond those three levels.
Now what are those three levels?
Look at it this way:
Imagine a light bulb, and the light bulb has three layers of glass. There is the inner layer of glass, the middle layer of glass, and an outer layer of glass. Inside the light bulb is the same thing that’s outside the light bulb, pure consciousness, pure energy, and even these layers of glass are made up of merely “patternings” of this entire package called this “light bulb.”
Now imagine dipping this light bulb into a series of births – chemical baths, and the quality of these chemical baths is that they do two things. Each chemical bath thins the outermost layer of glass, and simultaneously, it leaves on the outermost layer of glass, which determines when the bulb comes out of the bath, and what next bath it will be pulled into. It codes the bulb for what its next bath will be. It goes from bath to bath to bath to bath, until it comes to a bath where the outer layer has gotten so thin that this particular bath breaks through, and the glass goes “poof!”
Now there are only two layers of glass left.
The subjective experience of that poof is, “Oh, so that’s the way it all is…” It’s the moment of waking up out of the illusion. That’s the place where, like Ramana Maharshi said, “You are finished with physical birth,” because the outer layer is the set of pre-dispositions which pull you each time into a physical birth, and keep you going through physical birth, after physical birth. Then this “poof!” occurs, and then you only have two layers of glass, leaving the physical. So then you start birth after birth, after birth on the astral plane, without a physical body, until “poof!” that goes.
Then you have one layer of glass.
So then birth after birth, and now you’re on the causal plane, the world like Plato’s world of pure ideas. It’s the highest place you can get on in the world of form or energy. It’s the basic laws of the universe, from which all the rest is manifestation, the world of pure idea. You’ve got one layer of glass then, and finally, you go through that enough until “poof!” that’s gone and the inner and outer are one again.
The bath is your entire heredity, your entire environment, it is everything that is happening to you, that has happened, and that will happen to you in this lifetime, and it is all done. You must understand that there are no accidents whatsoever in the universe.
The old adage: “Serve or suffer” is so true.
